The healthcare workforce has historically worked in silos, yet effective care delivery requires a team approach. This has become globally apparent in the COVID-19 pandemic. This session will explore these historical, emerging, and continuing issues in detail and will present the innovative clinical, technical, operational, academic, and other unexpected solutions, driven by technology, that can help us chart a course into the future.

Biomedical research is at  the forefront of necessity in our world. Academia and Biopharma are teaming up to join the disciplines of big data, bioinformatics, and critical technology advances to accelerate medical research and improve patients’ lives. To say the healthcare industry is complex would be the understatement of the millennium. The inherent constraints and challenges make it a Gordian Knot disruption opportunity for technology innovation. During this session our panel of change catalysts, representing entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and cross-pollinators, will share stories of disruption, successes, and failures in their on-going quest to improve the state of healthcare for the sake of improving lives and communities.

Health happens where we live, work, and play; not only within the walls of the hospital or clinic. However, for many of our most vulnerable populations, access to services and support, doctors and hospitals, is limited. For the vitality of our community, we must meet our patients where they are, help them get well, and live well. And, we must maintain these connections consistently, especially during the most challenging of times like the current COVID-19 pandemic. During this session we will discuss the unseen barriers to closing the last mile to neighborhood health services and how technology can help lower these barriers to create healthy and happy communities.
