I would love to folks about how to transition my role in education into the field of tech. I would love to chat more with folks that didn't start in tech, but made the transition successfully. Below is a little information about my strengths and passions. Very excited to connect with people!
My background is college student affairs, where I have over a decade of experience providing counseling, advising, and resources to both staff and students regarding their personal, academic, career, and transitional success. I am a highly relational professional that puts people at the heart of my work. I am constantly making connections with the people around me in order to help my team build their network with individuals and resources. I place a high value on developing people both personally and professionally.
As a manager, my passion is not to get the job done, but to help motivate my team. I have a deep understanding of the diverse needs of the workplace in order to meet people where they are at. I value the process of critical reflection for my teams to help them celebrate their successes and reveal areas of growth so that together we become stronger. I excel at collaborative efforts in order to build critical partnerships that help enhance my network in within the programs I oversee.
Outside of work within student success within higher education, I am open to transition the skills I have gained in the university setting to work within the fields of training, development, and recruitment. I have extensive experience building training programs for staff and students on leadership, teamwork, and inclusion. I am also looking to utilize my skills as a strategic program administrator to manage teams within the fields of project/ program management. My areas of expertise include education, leadership programming, training and development, inclusion and diversity work, creating efficient people centered systems, staff supervision, one on one coaching and advising, social programming, and event management.
